Radiotherapy typically has a low success rate with prolactinomas. Radiotherapy is rarely used as primary treatment for prolactinomas due to relatively poor results. Radiotherapy normalized prolactin levels in 9 of 28 (32%) patients treated with radiotherapy alone. After failure of surgical cure, radiotherapy normalized prolactin levels in 4 of 35 (11%) patients. I think you need to visit with your doctor about what your best options are, should you not respond to the dopamine agonist. Minnie |
