Hi Jill,

Welcome to the group!

I know that being told you have a pituitary tumor is a really nerve wrecking experience and being told you have a large tumor is scary!

Many patients who start the dopamine agonist therapy have initial side effects that subside after the body has had a chance to adjust to the medication. With some though, other meds have to be tried, and with others, they just don't do well on the meds at all. Unfortunately with prolactinomas, when the medication is stopped, the hyperprolactinemia usually returns.

Some of the members have had successful pregnancies after having their tumors treated medically, so try to keep a positive outlook!

I am very glad that you had your MRI's reviewed by a neurosurgeon and I do hope that the medications are successful in both reducing the tumor size and lowering your prolactin levels. Work with your doctor regarding your medication and symptom management!

Welcome to the group!

Minnie
