Hi Mom (WoodsLena)!

Those darn supras!

I've a pituitary stalk tumor myself.  Fortunately in my case, I still have all of my pituitary hormones! When these tumors are in or originate the the stalk, it is common for them to cause significant, if not total loss of pituitary hormones.

As far as the sinus trouble, the tumor is way behind the sinuses, actually at the base of the brain. The tumor may originate in the sella tursica (an enclosed bony area at the base of the brain) up the stalk, or be outside the sella tursica and in the dura matter. I don't know if some of his hormonal abnormalities has to do with his sinuses or allergies, but it might be a good idea to discuss with his pedi endo and see what he thinks.

My middle son had allergies when he was little. He had to have the nebulizer treatments 2x per day starting at 9 months. He gradually weaned to pills, then seasonal inhalents. This year, at 16, he was symptom free. All I can suggest is that you work closely with a pedi allergiest.

Glad to hear from you! Try to be strong. I know how much worry that you are going through!
