This article helped me. PITUITARY - HYPOTHALAMIC TUMOR SYNDROMES: ADULTS Chapter 11b - Klaus von Werder, MD, FRCP August 22, 2002 The thing is with pituitary stalk tumors, they typically cause loss of pituitary hormones. I'm not so sure about just calling it inflammation. It could be an inflammatory process, but typically the inflammatory diseases cause thickening of the pituitary stalk, (not necessarily a clear tumor) and loss of pituitary hormones. You might want to seek the opinion of an endorine expert. I expect you will be undergoing testing and monitoring for some time. The doctors won't remove a tumor like this unless it is compromising your eyesight, or other critical brain structures. Minnie |
