Judy, I am actually pretty impressed that the radiologist took time with you to educate you about gamma knife and even gave you a DVD about the procedure. Did you ask questions too? Some patients I have talked with in the past seemed to feel that it was also important to have gamma knife at centers that had alot of experience with pituitary tumors. I don't know if anyone has any comments they'd like to add. I think that goes along with the idea that practice makes perfect and long term outcomes sliding to the patient's benefit re: quality of life and tumor growth control and minimizing overal loss of pituitary hormonal loss. I guess some reading up would have to be done if that interested you. I know a friend of mine is going to a center who has done almost 200 procedures over one that has done 50.
