You need to get to a pituitary center. I do not know where you live but it is imperative that you see a specialist in the pituitary field. It is not ok to gain 120 lbs. Pituitary tumors cause an assortment of problems that are not understood by even most endocrinologists unless they have chosen to specialize in treating pituitary tumors. Once your tumor was discovered you should be having annual MRI's to check its status. You should be having full hormone panels to check all hormone levels, including cortisol, which is the only hormone that is immediately life threatening if it drops to zero. Pituitary tumors usually grow and cause more and more problems. All growing pituitary tumors are removed by surgery unless they are prolactinomas (the only pituitary tumor that can be reduced by meds.) Prolactinomas produce large amounts of prolactin (over 200...many times up into the thousands). Tumors that are not prolactinomas can also elevate the prolactin level up to 200. That is called the stalk effect. This is just a little bit of basic information. You can call me: 541-757-9663. Jean in Oregon
