I have a recurrent nonfunctioning pit tumor. I had original surgery in October 2003 and identified 1cm. regrowth by December 2004 . Pathology reported 10% of the tumor was prolactin producing so I'm taking bromocriptine. My neuro reviewed my MRIs from December 2004 and June 2005 and identified no continued growth so decided to wait another year to repeat the MRI but also referred me to an opthalmalogist for a full vision eval and to a head and neck surgeon. He thought there was either fluid or infection in my sinus that could be causing frequent severe headaches. I saw the Head and Neck surgeon last week and he scoped my sinus and stated there was no fluid or infection but he saw soft tissue that he believes is tumor. He consulted with the neuro and the neuro does not want to do surgery because he thinks I'll definitely lose pit function as a result. He recommended waiting 3 months and then have the sinus re-scoped to see if there are any changes. The vision eval identified minimal peripheral vision loss and recommended a re-eval in 6 months. Does this sound reasonable? Anyone else have sinus involvement? Lucky |
