To DJS - Thanks fior your reply. You don't say if your swelling/weight reduced after your prolactin levels normalised? You've taken metformin - does that mean you were also diagnosed with PCOS ?. If not - maybe you should be tested for that cos PCOS can cause elevated prolactin too. Other tests they might do would be progesterone and estrogen - since estrogen dominance can cause swollen, bloating symptoms and also cause an annovulatory cycle which can be part of PCOS profile.
