Your situation is important for all people having pituitary surgery to know about. Some people are being discharged the day after surgery but for those of use who were required to stay a tad longer, the issue was to be evaluated for our endocrine function. You are not stable following surgery. I developed diabetes insipidus which was not confirmed until the second day after surgery. I also stuck around for a week before going home. When I left I had a plan about what to do if I got into trouble 3 hours away from the pituitary center.
