Hey all, Thanks for the replies to my other posts...very much appreciated. Now I have some questions since my last endo visit...I had a bunch of lab work done before my gamma knife treatment, and this past week I got the results. She told me that my growth hormone was low and gave me copies of the lab report. She gave me reading materials about it and I was informed that she would not have me take any right now and also that it is only given in injection form.. yikes! I am not afraid of that, but sounds very expensive. She is going to wait until my next MRI check to make sure that being on that hormone would not cause my tumor to recur or grow. I checked out some prices of the growth hormone called Genotropin and it is very expensive just for one dose not to mention several and so on. How is this done with insurance and all? How can anyone afford it? I hope someone can shed more light on all this.. Thanks, Judy |
