I know exactly what your going thru right now and it's a scary time. All we can do is educate ourselves and trust in our doctors and pray. You and Jason are both in my thoughts and prayers. And the sandostatin is only once a month. Also pay attention to how the dr bills it to the insurance. My prescription plan covered it but since the doctor obtained it from thier supplier and out prescription plan is seperate from out medical plan the dr can't bill the prescrip plan and has to put it thru the medical. Now we are having to send letters and test results and stuff to get it covered. I called our local Walgreen's and found out they can obtain it and I was going to get it from them and take it to the dr's appt with us for the first 3 mths after which time our prescription plan has a special mail order pharmacy that would send it directly to the doctor and deal with all the billing directly. It's definitely something to ask about and watch out for. If for some reason he ever has to be on somavert there is a special program called the bridge program that deals with all that for you and ships the meds directly to you. Hopefully this will be a heads up for you and you can avoid some of the stress I've been going thru. Here's keeping my fingers crossed that the sandostatin is successful.
