I hope someone here maybe able to help me. A little over a year ago I had been taking steroids shots for pain. I had been given 10 shots in 4 weeks. One day I woke up and could not extend my arm or legs, when I did it felt like the musicals were ripping with severe pain in my lower arms and ankles and legs. That is when my nightmare started. I would soon be told many different diagnosis. My hair stopped growing under my arms the hair on my head started to fall out also I stopped having my periods, weight gain of 20 lb, severe bruising, depression, mood swings, swelling. After many test my ACTH came back at 0.3 I was then told I had Addison disease. Do to the very hi doses of steroids and that everything would be ok. Well I didn't get any better and I started getting the smart remarks that its all in my head or I was doing this was to myself. After being sent to many different Doctors one of them listened, when I told them about the hair under my arms was not growing he sent me to a endo. I went to see the endo and several test were done I was told I had low GH under 70 thyroid was low and Fsh & LH real low, IGF-1was under 70 also. I was then put on synthroid 112 mg and estrogen 000 I then was sent for the 5 HR GH testing I was told that my GH came back HI but my IGF-1 was low . He told me he had never seen anything like this before. He then redone the IGF-1 and it came back low again under 70. I was the told I had an pituitary disease that is called pigmie &dwarf disease ( I have not found any info on this) I had an appointment on Friday and was told that( this is not a joke ) I could have a pigmie dwarf disease with liver disease and a few other thing. I am 40 I think I stopped growing about 26 yrs ago. I think this Dr maybe off the deep end. I need to find a clinic or Dr. I am in Dayton Ohio. Also I had a MRI to check for MS would anyone know if they can see the pituitary with this test thank you, sorry its so long ![]() |
