I had a hysterectomy in December.....are they doing yours through a laproscope....if they are, I thought it was pretty easy....I kept one ovary....which does not work :( But I had my surgery at 5:00 p.m., was eating Wendy's and watching The Amazing Race by 9:00. That was on a Tuesday...I work from home, so I worked a full day the next Sunday but it was too much and pretty much did not even go to the office for two weeks....was back full time within three weeks and then I had the pituitary problem and low estrogen which complicated things. The advice I have from you is to not drink ice water after the surgery (they will bring it to you, but don't because of the gas), no carbonated drinks for a couple of days, and they tell you no lifting for four or six weeks (I can't remember which). IF you can, try to refrain longer than that....I saw that you have children so it will be harder.....I had three small incisions on my lower abdomen and one in my belly button and was only sore in one place (the left hand incision) and wonder if they hit a nerve there cause that still bothers me....best of luck to you!!!!
