He had me have an emergency MRI done and instead of sending me to my endo. he reffered me to a neurologist, which i haven't been reffered to in yrs. Last time i had an MRI was two yrs ago and my pit. tumor was only 3mm. I've been taking dostinex for 2 yrs .5 ml twice a week and ortho tri cyclen 2 yrs as well. Today at my neuro. appt the hostpital didn't get the MRI pics. to the Dr. and he believes that my headaches and the hemridging or excess fluid in my brain is due to the birth control and has told me to stop it. When i got home i looked this info. up on the comp. and found nothing that says there can be excess fluid in the brain because of birth control. Also when i asked questions about my tumor he had no answers for me, also didn't know what dostinex was, and said it would be better to ask my endo. Think i should get a neurologist who is more familiar with prolactinomas? Has anyone else heard about excess fluid in the brain because of birth control? I was mainly put on the birth control because i was having irregular periods so i really don't want to have to stop taking it. I think i will call my endo and get her input. Anyone else think it's crazy the Dr. didn't just rescheduale my appt. until he could look over my MRI results? Just want anyone's input. Thanks View other groups in this category.
