----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: liltrubin Message 8 in Discussion Dear SherF770: I am so sorry for what you are going through. There is a small book that has a bunch of articles in it that focuses on the emotional aspects of the disease process. I would highly recommend that you get yourself a copy. The book is Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics Emotional Aspects of Pituitary Disease by Weitzner, Sonino & Knutzen. Don't focus so much on the technical stuff but look at the articles on apathy syndrome and acromegaly. It is a wealth of information. You may see not only your husband in there but some of what you are experiencing as well. Keep us posted on not only his progress but yours as well. Reply Recommend Message 1 in Discussion From: SherF770 My estranged husband has just told me he found out a week ago he has acromegaly. He is extremely distraught. At this point I seem to know more than he does. (I have computer access)He has been acting depressed at least 6 months and we have been separated now 3 months, because "he isn't happy here any more." I knew there was something wrong, I thought maybe mid life .but after reading all the symptoms, I can clearly see it is this disease. Please help me help him. He doesn't want our grown children to know. They know he's had a chronic lung infection and are praying for him. View other groups in this category.
