----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: chiruchiru2003 Message 14 in Discussion Hi everyone again, Don't worry about the surgery. With Dr. Post it went so well. I was crying and depressed for 1 year with ineffective Dostinex, worrying about my future with tumor. Dostinex was so expensive like $ 500 per month, I was so worried how to continue having insurance to afford it. But in my case, the surgery was the best decision. I was scared to death till the day of surgery, I still remember the surgery room just before the surgery, I thought I was going to die. But about 2 H later, I woke up with full of energy, with just a slight headache and a tampon in my nose. 4 days later I left the hospital. For 1 month I stayed at home resting but I went back to work full time right after, since then I have been completely fine! I go to check my blood every 3-6 months and every 2 yrs I have brain MRI but nothing wrong so far. I almost forgot what I had. I highly recommend to see Dr.Post, since he is really great. I know 3 people who had the same surgery from him and no recurrence. Here is the info about Dr. Post. http://www.mssm.edu/neurosurgery/history.shtml I just found him in a website one day, and called his office to make an appointement to meet him. It was easy but since he is so popular, it is better to call in much advance. This is not cancer or scary fatal disease, we can handle that if it is not too late. Good luck and pls don't worry about surgery and disease. -----Original Message----- From: mommyof8 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Pituitary Chat <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, 31 Mar 2008 11:38 pm Subject: Re: Has anyone resumed a normal life? ----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat ----------------------------------------------------------- From: mommyof8 Message 10 in Discussion Thank you both very much for the input. I'm glad to hear about Dr. Post. I am desperately seeking a really good doc on the East coast because at least I will be closer to family and friends. I just cannot imagine being clear across the country for surgery although I would go if I had to. Surgery is scarey enough without thinking about not having a support network. I've had a really emotional day (God only knows why????) and I keep telling my husband that I have to get some resolution to this situation soon. He definitely needs to become more educated though because he seems to think that if I have surgery, this disease is just gonna go away and life will go back to the way it used to be. My family doctor tried to explain to him that this desease will always be with me in one way or another. Even if I had surgery and it was successful, I am always going to need monitoring. He doesn't want to hear that because he wants to leave his job and start his own business but I need the health insurance that his current job offers. Sometimes I get so mad about having this tumor and this disease. My therapist said that I need to learn to love the tumor because it is part of me. I know that sounds really strange but he said I need to love the tumor so that I can love it to death. He said that my hatred of it is just making me sicker. In other words, hatred is a bad emotion and love is a good emotion. Hatred is ineffective and love is effective. I know he is right but gosh, I am really having a rough time getting to this place. I don't like doctors, don't like hospitals, don't like disease or sickness. Ok now that I got that all off my chest, does anyone know how you find out the success rates of a neurosurgeon without asking him or her? They do not seem to want to give straight answers at all. God bless all of you! ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
