----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Willard1H Message 5 in Discussion Hi, Boot, It looks like there is a definite connection between the pituitary gland and thyroid nodules. On Cedars-Sinai's page on the topic they discuss a type of goiter, noting, "This usually happens when the pituitary gland (in the brain) creates too much thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)." Does a pit tumor increase the risk? I dunno. There's lots of stuff on that page that I don't begin to understand. They recommend a TSH test, but say a bunch of other tests may be needed. Check it out and see if it answers your question.
