I dont trust some of the MRI readings we get..I had surgery in 1998, tumor
showed no growth in 1999 but when checked in 2000 grew 1mm close to the same
size as it started, 2.5 cm. Had to have radiation in 2001...I have MRIs every
year....One time reading would be 1.8 cm and next year 1.5cm, next year 1.0
cm, next year 1.5 cm again then 7mm back up to 1.0....but every year its done
by a different tech and how they read it..None of my other Drs read the
MRI...My regular Dr says that a Radiolgist or Oncologist read them and compare
to last one so no one else needs too.... I asked my Endo this last time if he
reads them and he said no, he said , "I use to but its a hassel and most on
disks now so cant read it anyway, not even sure if we have the software to do
it" They say the tumor is smaller than before radiation and away from my optic
nerve and caroid artery and is just sitting there so i guess its all ok..still
there and will have MRIs next year too...I have had 13 or 14 MRIs since 1998..
I am on growth hormone replacement for 2 years now so I think i need to have
MRIs every year even tho the reported sizes may differ the dr says it has
looked the same size for 3 years...Weird how such a small little thing can
cause such a big pain in the butt!!!! Cat
