The above is really the key point IMO..
If we end up with (as we need ;-) with some sort of "experimental"
repository/tag where in-development package snapshots live until
they're polished and ready to graduate to the "stable" ("supported",
whatever) repository/tag, applying Bart's quote above neatly
eliminates nearly everything in this checklist.
Instead, we can run a script on the "experimental" package given that
it is already available in a known location and extract most of this
info automatically (thus much more reliably than a human filling the form).
The output of that report can then be one part of the process for the
package to 'graduate' to 'stable'.
