Default install of IPS and IPS GUI should point at a stable milestone release, namely 2008.11. If you want the dev builds then this should be an opt in, where you go and point at that this dev repo specifically. Currently pkg.opensolaris.org is the unstable dev repo for the bleeding edge bits, we need to have stable milestone repos to point at, perhaps along the lines of pkg.opensoalris.org/2008.11 and pkg.opensolaris.org/dev. Then if you do an Update All and a new milestone build is available, we should prompt them that this is so, upgrade them if they wish and point the repo to this new milestone.
