The latest UC2 bits are based on a snapshot of the IPS gate from July 16 with a variety of porting fixes on top. All of the fixes in the UC2 bits have been put back to the gate now. I'm currently working on getting the UC2 bits updated from the IPS gate; we hope to have that in the next build. There are few Windows porting issues that have to be worked out.

There is not any intent to have a fork, but due to project schedules and the need to lock down the code for release by both projects, it has been necessary to far to do this.

Volker,
For running pkg(5) on Solaris 10, you might be interested in the Update Center 2 toolkit images that are here:

http://wikis.sun.com/display/IpsBestPractices/Downloads

The Solaris 10 download includes the pkg(5) commands in a completely self-contained user image, including a minimized python environment. When you are done with the image, just remove the top-level directory. The downloads are available for both SPARC and x86.

Are the latest UC2 bits a fork of IPS (any implementation
differences?) or the same as what one could get from
"hg clone ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/hg/pkg/gate"?
