Since "supplement" would be relative to the "core" of something, perhaps it'd be nice to have a way to name that core (or its authority(ies)) here. That way one could have an authority for a supplement relative to a Solaris core, or some other product (which might in turn be a supplement... -- put a limit on depth to avoid having to do loop detection).
