(e55f6c8992a67bc02f39fffd975a87f26a4afbb6) file in "/file/e5/"
directory instead of "/file/0/" which is what pkg client asking for?

Yes, but there's not a direct mapping there. The server will map the
filename to the local directory. So the client is doing the correct thing.
Have you checked the server error logs?
Have you checked the owner/group and other permissions on the repository?
