But I have confusion regarding " --be-name" option .
According to pkg(1) man page,
With --be-name, rename the newly created boot environment to be the
argument given. This option is only valid if a new boot environment
is created during image update. See also beadm(1m).
Can you please elaborate on the use of this option ?
to me, the meaning is quite clear: normally, when you're running eg.
"opensolaris-1", image-update will create a new BE called
"opensolaris-2". with this option, you can choose any name for the
newly created BE, eg "osol-123".
Thanks Michael for the reply.
Sorry for not being too explicit in the previous mail. I wanted to
understand the use of "--be-name" with "pkg install" command (and not
with pkg image-update.).
Thanks
Nirmal
