Well, you never actually need it -- they're automatically named if necessary, even if the names aren't always terribly descriptive. And if a BE was created unexpectedly, you can always rename it after the fact. If you don't want to do any of that, you can supply --deny-new-be and simply have the command fail if a BE were to be created. Did you have anything in mind?
