I'm still there, (almost) silently reading (docs, mailing-lists, ...), and getting a bit more familiar with d-i and kernel packaging. I've made little concrete progress (as I've not tried to build anything yet), but I'm starting to understand how the d-i stuff works. I can however foresee some issues, the first one being to generate an u-boot image from a kernel udeb, since I've only managed to run images based on vmlinux (and not vmlniuz), but maybe I haven't tried hard enough yet :)
