Oh, and... Both Ubuntu and Shutter are free software. You get what you pay for. Free software maintainers don't owe you anything, and aren't under any obligation to continue maintaining their software just because you don't want to have to stop using it. Speaking as the maintainer of many free software packages for many years: we do the best we can, but we don't appreciate the sense of entitlement some people demonstrate.
