I will close the bug now - it seems to be more a (missing) feature than a bug.
What i mean is the following: 1. When you search for the problem you will find this link: http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=7121 You will be directed to link i posted first. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-volumed/+bug/885956/comments/9 But this is not helpfull, because the entries are missing in Debian? 2. You find alternative description like this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1941411 Here the solution is to use pavucontrol. But pavucontrol is to control the settings of Pulseaudio. I installed it but of course it does not help because Pulseaudio is not installed. There are enough problems with Pulseaudio itself, so it is a good idea to avoid the installation of it. The final question is how to handle multiple sound cards in Debian with XFCE?
