I would expect it to show the "Planner View" for that day which includes the
Diary section, but not to create the physical file. The creation of the
physical muse file on the hard drive should only happen with task
creation.

I like the planner view : if I bring up calendar and move from 1st to
2nd to 3rd and all have existing planner files I see them. When I move to
a day which previously had no planner file I would expect to see a
planner page with the DIARY section in it for concistency, but that file
does not need to be created or the PLANS directory gets overcrowded. The
diary section is just a "superimposing" of the diary file anyway so
there is no need to create a physical file just for the planner
"preview" when moving around the calendar.
