Doesn't python rely on precise indenting to imply levels of nesting?

That may be something to consider if it will be edited with many
different tools on different OSs.

To stick my oar in, I'd push for something simple that can be
machine-read and written, this means you can easily make
value adding tools to configure plex86, eg. from a GUI or an
installshield type application. Simple name-value pairs could
fit the bill.

If you want functions and variables perhaps a pre-processor
approach would be more appropriate - something like cpp or
preferably (IMHO) m4
