Shortly said, official=frozen (updates = security patches, that's all), devel=stable (updates = security patches + bugfixes), cooker=devel (updates with latest packages without much QA). At least, this is what I've read on the Cooker ML and what I've observed since 2006 is out but there is nothing official yet about this.
