Dear Ramon, Malthe and others:

We've been doing multilingual sites with Zope since 2001. We have used
and tested several versions of Localizer, itools, iHotfix and bla bla
bla. We have been working with LinguaPlone since Plone 2.1. Our first
Plone site was already a multilingual one (www.mondragon.edu,
fortunately was migrated to Plone 4 last year), and almost every
website we do is multilingual because we live in a country with two
languages (es and eu or eu and fr).

We can accept that LinguaPlone is built doing some hacks with the
catalog, but we don't matter the implementation details: we know how
to configure it and know that we have to import from
Products.LinguaPlone.public to make our content-types multilingual.

We want the same story with Dexterity. We don't matter the details:
whether there's a central catalog, a star structure or a DAG. We don't
matter the details of language-independent-field implementation.
Please, we want a single multilingual story for Dexterity.

I think that it's important to keep (or keep & improve) the UI and UX,
because customers and end-users are already used to
LinguaPlone-way-of-working. OK, we can improve any package providing
pluggable policies to handle this and that, but please, a single
story.

Best,

Mikel Larreategi
