It turns out I do have librsvg installed as part of my distribution (OpenSuse 10.2), but I can't/don't know how to tell my ImageMagick to find it. Maybe there's a way to drop/link it into the ImageMagick "coders" set of libs and get it found at launch time, but ... In the process, of course, I discovered that part of librsvg includes executables rsvg-view and rsvg-convert, which as you might expect work fine.
