Hi Andrew:

Here is the Debian packager's response to 726069:

"I will add the patch and create a new package.
Note that I sent the patch to libharu upstream and they included it.
So the next version will no longer require the patch.

So it is all good, and this implies that quite soon you will be able to build
PLplot debs that include the pdf device.
