Hi Werner:

I have documented at https://sourceforge.net/p/plplot/bugs/133 all the
issues for -dev pdf that I spotted by looking at the standard examples
results. I have tentatively assigned this bug to you since you are the
originator of this code. But I also encourage other PLplot device
experts here to help out by cleaning up these remaining small issues
for the pdf device since once those issues are fixed this device
should provide an outstanding (except for the lack of access to exotic
unicode fonts) light-weight PDF solution for PLplot users on all
platforms.

For others here, note the only external dependency of this device is
libhpdf = libharu which requires a minor patch to run example 24, but
the patched version is an easy build on all platforms. The
build_projects project needs just one more step (improved
documentation) to make it convenient for anybody here to use it to
build many PLplot dependencies such as libharu. That libharu build
works well both on Linux and MinGW/MSYS/Wine. However, I also plan to
upgrade the libharu build configuration in
build_projects/libharu/bp.cmake to the latest libharu code release. So
when the documentation update and that task is completed (with luck in
the next few days) it should be easy for anybody here to test (and
debug) the pdf device.
