"a bit of a rewrite" is an understatement ;-) It will be a complete 
rewrite.  The only thing it will have in common with the current 
viewer is the database format. The user interface will depend on the 
used toolkit (e.g. GTK+, FLTK, Palm OS, Windows).

At the moment, the only thing I can say about the current code base 
is that more or less nothing from it will be used in the new design. 
The current code base is too Palm OS biased (duh!), while the new 
design will separate the GUI from the core functions.

Makes perfect sense if you want the same databases to work for both 
a Palm OS based and a Linux based app (which is what I'm aiming for 
with the "new" viewer).
