I've received several useful comments, but no takers on my "creating an editor" bounty with the characteristics I mentioned. Oh well, that's the way it goes.
Thus, I'm going to cancel my earlier bounty, and see if someone is interested in creating a simple text editor. I'm willing to send $$ to someone who creates a GPL'ed text editor with certain characteristics, relatively soon. However, Plucker is really overkill as a starting point for such a project, so I currently intend to talk with the author of Weasel Reader to see what can be done. That author has already suggested that he's interested in expanding Weasel Reader (aka GutenPalm) to become an editor, and his project already includes many of the features that would make it a good starting point. If anyone else is interesting in writing a text editor for Palms (GPL'ed), please email me right away. Currently, I intend to talk to the Weasel folks soon. My heartfelt thanks to those who responded, and I remain a grateful and avid user of Plucker. In fact, I just sent an email to the maintainer of the Palm OS document at the Linux Documentation Project, to make sure there's a good word and links from there to Plucker. Thanks. --- David A.
