I'm not sure I understand. Is color to grayscale conversion built in OS
3.5+? I know that a TBMP can have multiple versions of the bitmap, with
different bit depths, but that will only work if the TBMP actually contains
different versions. I'm pretty sure the Python parser does not create
multi-bpp bitmaps.
