Sorry :). 2mb is my textonly website. The 20mb one is the same site with photos and stuff. Uncompressing the 2mb one still takes forever(i suspect that it's due to the fact that there is so many files in the zip).
I've tried that. But then you run into a problem.
a) you now have to do 2 steps instead of 1
b) unzipping 20mb worth of html isnt very fast
c) 20mb of unzipped + 20mb of zip file..means that you can't fit that into onboard memory :(
ie..you can either have the compressed copy or the uncompressed copy, but not both. So it really isn't feasable to have them in 1 big file. The other way would be to have many smaller zip files..but that get tiring real fast.
What Palm allows you to store 20MB of data?
I realize you're Pocket PC, but Plucker is Palm-oriented. Your parameters for the problem initially was "2mb", which this will work well for, albiet with the extra steps. 20mb goes substantially beyond what any of the (Palm-based) developers, myself included, work with.
Actually plucker is the right tool for the job. I load those same 20mb files onto sony clies..directly onto the memory stick in 3minutes or so. Then plucker can browse them as usual.
Plucker isn't the right tool for that. And neither is a Pocket PC. For 20MB HTML scrape-and-views, get a Sony Vaio or a Fujitsu LifeBook; they're almost as small and do a heck of a lot more PC-type stuff.
Use the right tool for the job. Fixing a software bug with a hammer may be satisfying, but it isn't terribly effective.
