Actually,doesn't this indicate a problem with GBKOS? After all, shouldn't a
multibyte character OS support FtrGet( sysFtrCreator, sysFtrNumEncoding,
&charEncoding ); and return with a value of charEncoding >
charEncodingPalmLatin? (At least the Palm docs imply this.)

I am one of the authors of GBKOS - the opensource
Chinese OS for PalmOS. I have noticed that Plucker
Viewer can not display Chinese with GBKOS is running.
I have looked through the source codes of GBKOS and
have not found any problems. So I looked through the
source codes of Plucker Viewer. Then I found in the
os.c file, there are some codes set the uses8bitsChars
flag when CJKOS is found. I think the problem is here.
I suggest to fix this problem. Thanks!

codes of GBKOS can be fetched via CVS.
Additional informations:
If GBKOS is installed, there must be a native library
called GBKOS_Lib with the creator id of 'dGBK'. If
want to determine whether GBKOS is running, there are
some codes in common.h and common.cpp of the source
codes of GBKOS.
BTW: I can not retrieve the configure file of the
viewer by the anonymouse account. How can I compile
the viewer?
