The same amount of files on a CF card in my TRGpro takes 4-5 seconds... > I use Wordsmith and it does not seem to take this long. I don't understand why that should be relevant, though. > Is there anyway to cache this data? Well, it is the "cache" that is updated when it syncs the doc list ;-) > Or make the sync manual, or maybe tell it just to > list the files instead of going deeper into the file? The only way for the viewer to find out if documents have been removed, added, changed, or moved to another location since the last time the viewer was run is for it to sync the list of documents. Removing that is not an option for the current viewer. Maybe we could come up with a different way of providing the viewer with relevant data about the list of documents. However, that is not a simple tweak and my vacation starts tomorrow, so I will not do any work on the viewer until after August 1. The only solution for you (unless you want to hack the viewer yourself) is to keep a smaller amount of documents on the memplug or keep the important documents in RAM and disconnect the memplug before using the viewer when you are in a hurry. /Mike
