Hi,

On installing to card from Plucker Desktop:

This can and will be done for Mac/MSW. The mail archives has threads about this. The
implementation answer was found thanks to Plucker community help. However, as was
mentioned,
adding new features aren't the thing to be doing in the runup to a release, as it sets
the
debug cycle all the way back again. The only thing that will be done in the runup is
eliminating bugs (such as NH's nice find that a channel name (doc_name key) cannot
exceed 31
characters, which was fixed today.) When 1.2 is shipped, then the suite of new
features will be
started. The TODO.txt file describes in detail the things in the TODO queue.
For Linux, I don't think that install-to-card capability exists yet in pilot-link, but
I would
guess that a patch would most certainly be welcomed as an addition.

On a oneclick install from the HotSync button:

This will be implemented at some point. The UI to switch to turn it on is available
within the
Plucker Desktop already: Preferences dialog > Autoupdate tab > 4th radiobutton. The
implementation for this is now trivial, because Plucker Desktop now has a commandline
mode.
Therefore, a conduit is very simple. On a sync it just does needs to do one thing:
execute the
commandline Plucker Desktop command that updates all due channels, and everything will
be
performed.
Making this behaviour an option allows people who like the AvantGo way of
press-HotSync-and-
forget to do that, while still allowing the rest to have their updating done at a
earlier time
(so they don't have to sit there and wait while things update).

Best wishes,
Robert
