In that mode, there's "TO" and "SUBJECT" fields. I opened your message, and Eudora showed me 23 different headers--but none of them were the "In-Reply-To" header. I started to reply to you (privately, off-list) to ask about that header, and happened to discover that "Display Full Headers" was still *off*. I turned it on, and got the Full Headers (32 different categories of headers; and 39 lines, not counting additional lines due to text-wrapping), including your "In-Reply-To". I'd like to consider myself a "veteran" of e-mail (I've been sending messages for a long time, anyway), and I was unaware that this header existed and was used: as far as I knew, threading was done by subject line. I myself am guilty of authoring new messages to mailing lists in this manner--usually because I didn't feel I had the free resources or time to actually launch a web-browser window to look up the correct e-mail address.
