can you ping the sites? if so, when you hit reload on the webpage what
does `netstat -n` say? established? syn_sent? can you telnet
directly to the web port on the server? telnet plkr.org 80 then do
`GET / HTTP/1.0` does it all come back?
this really is an issue for you to take up with your network service
provider, not a software mailing list. my first guess would be that
there is some transparent proxy/filtering/caching done at one, or both,
cable ISPs which is interferring with either the application data or the
transport layer.
