After using Plucker for a year or so, I have
decided to leave it behind for iSilo.
I use SiteScooper to grab sites, and plucked from
the generated HTML. iSilo will do this as well as Plucker
does.
I have decided to switch for three reasons,
primarily, all related to the Palm app.:
1. Plucker's autoscroll can't keep up with me
unless the scroll is set to too many pixels, and at that point the text is so
jumpy I can't deal with it.
2. I never really got used to having to jump from
the bottom of one page to the top of another. (I like to use one program for
both web content and e-books.) This feature really made the percentage at
the top of the screen meaningless, and I used to refer to it habitually with
PalmReader, so I miss it.
3. Large document are really slow to load with
Plucker.
iSilo is not free, and I will miss that about
Plucker, as well as the helpful advice and hard work of the team of
developers. Thanks to all.
