I've been in the search for a good online browser for the PalmOS (especially with OS5 & my TT). There are none out there at the moment that can handle tables, or even go hi-res very well. Wouldn't it take just a little tweaking to build plucker with that

I tried Palm's browser in the simulator. Seemed to work well, however I'm not sure where to get one that actually works on the devices.

functionality?
I would think that Plucker could jump ahead in both on-line & off-line functionality
if it could do this.

It would be a rather big change to plucker. It would have to pluckerize documents on the fly and would probably be rather slow at it. I was thinking of approaching the problem with a different way. Websites could provide pluckerized versions which would consist of a bunch of precompressed plucker records that could be asked for individually.
This way one could sync the latest news as they usually do. Once the palm is out of the crade and on wireless and if the website provides the service, it would go and fetch additional links/updates as it discovers one's that are missing or out of date.

Of course OS5 devices are fast enough to have an onboard pluckerizer :). Since C/C++ conversion routines are magnitudes faster than python/java solutions..I'd imagine that they would be fast enough. But then there is still the issue of incremental loading to indicate progress of a webpage.cache..bandwidth.etc..etc. Much much too complicated :)

Hope this makes some sense,
Taras
