Try using the 'official' NYT feeds, found at 
(http://www.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/index.html).

Laurens has also updated his JPluck JXL library to pluck the NYT from those feeds, 
returning the printer-friendly version 
(http://jpluck.sourceforge.net/news/archives/000134.html).
