In Turbo linux take a look at /etc/modules.conf, if there are entries with hsf or hcf then it is a connexant modem. Or from the command line in a console type lsmod and if it is a connexant modem modules containing hsf or hcf should be displayed. If it is a connexant chipset go to linuxant.com If not there will also be hints there what the chip is. Otherwise as mentioned, the linmodems.org scanmodem is the way to go.
