And if you read that thread, there were some members who did give sensible and
correct answers/information. Politeness works both ways.

I did answer his question, didn't I? The point I was trying to make was simply
that there is nothing wrong to ask people to do a bit of homework. I don't
expect him ( or anybody ) to learn how kppp works. I do expect, however, that
he at least tell us what he's done so that I ( or anybody else ) can help him
further if required. I really don't need to read stuff like

I have neither the time nor the inclination to do it, and I guess neither does
anyone else. As I said above, politeness works both ways.
I am also not out to start a battle of words.
I believe that the use of LUGs the world over is, apart from promoting FLOSS,
also to make the users learn a bit. And that you cannot do unless you read
the manual.
