check out linmodems.org / linuxant.org

well some of my friends too faced graphics related problems during
installation (They didn't get a blank screen, but the picture was heavily
distorted/fonts were almost unreadable. Changing driver settings through yast
after installation fixed that problem). One friend who faced such problem was
using Intel 810 graphics with celeron processor.

In your case, by blank screen, what exactly do you mean? Does your monitor go
into powersave mode? I've seen this happen when the resolution/refresh rate
set by the graphics system isn't supported by the monitor. I think you can
change these settings even from text mode using xf86config as root. Just make
sure about this from someone more experienced than me! ;-) Me not very sure
how to go about it. Tried xf86config once, almost screwed up my
configuration! A backup of the X config file saved the day for me! :-O

Kapil
